Music
The Salvation Army is well-known for its music. We are blessed at Hadleigh Temple with some very good musicians. We have a decent sized band and Songster Brigade.
We also have skillful timbrelists (tambourine players) and young people who are displaying musical skills of all sorts.
For the Salvationist, music is not an add-on or decoration; it is an integral part of worship. The primary purpose of our musical sections is supporting the minsitry of the officer and corps to encourage people to find Jesus as saviour and encourage the faithful in their service to God.
The picture on the left shows onoe of our elder bandsman, Arthur Oliver, showing a young child how to blow a cornet during the band's Christmas carolling ministry at Sloane Square, Chelsea on 6 December 2008.
