New Book of Remembrance
At the annual Remembrance Festival on November 1st, a new book of remembrance will be presented to the corps. Festival organiser Robin Bryant said "I think it will be good to hold a book remembrance for Hadleigh, as I believe none exists. There is a list in the parish church of St James the Less, which was researched by ex-navy man 90 year old Ray Blackmore in 1999. There is a complete list held at he borough council offices, but no book a s such".
The book is bound in maroon colour goat skin with gold foil blocking and gilt edges. Calligraphy inside the book is by corps member Karen Brodrick.
The book will be presented in a drum-head ceremony, with Major Gillian receiving it. This is fitting because Major Gillian has much experience as a chaplain to ex-servicemen, a service for which she receive the freedom of the City of London. The book will subsequently be on display at the Temple.
