DC to Farewell
The Divisional Commander of London North East is to farewell in this year’s general change in the summer. Major Carol Bailey has looked after Hadleigh Temple well during her tenure at DHQ and is now set to move back to her native Scotland where she will be DC and Divisional Director of Women’s Ministries in East Scotland Division.

Band’s Romanian Fundraiser
The London North-East Divisional Fellowship Band (BM Ken Hillson) presented its annual charity concert at Hadleigh Temple. True to the title ‘Music for Everyone’, the band brought a mix of Salvation Army repertoire punctuated with eclectic mix of other music from Chopin to Broadway and included timeless standards.

BBC television presenter Pam Rhodes is set to return to the Temple in May of this year.

Snow Prevents Worship
Heavy snowfall over the night of Saturday 4th February caused Sunday meetings on the 5th to be cancelled. After a 10cm (4 inches) snowfall in sub-zero temperatures, police advised motorists to stay at home. Some who didn’t wished they had as there were some minor accidents in and around Hadleigh.
Camera Club at Benfleet Library
The Camera Club were delighted to have been invited to exhibit at Benfleet Library for the whole month of February 2012. The exhibition has been set up and is now open to the general public. The library is open from 9.30 – 5.30 every day except Thursday and Sunday.

New Flag Appeal for Steve
AN appeal has been launched to replace the corps flag used on marches. The old flag has become somewhat dilapidated and members and friends of the corps are being invited to contribute towards the cost of a new one. The flag will be dedicated to the memory of Colour Sergeant Steve West who was suddenly promoted to Glory a few years ago.

Army Honoured in Shop Window
The good relationship that exists in Hadleigh between The Salvation Army and Morrison’s supermarket was confirmed when the food giant dedicated a window of its new store to the Army.
Cadets link up with Hadleigh
A party of first-year cadets from the William Booth College have been linked with Hadleigh Temple as part of their field training syllabus. The four, from the Proclaimers of the Resurrection session, are spending a number of Sundays at the corps leading worship.

PCSOs’ Christmas Thank-you
TWO police community support officers were so delighted at having been invited to Christmas lunch with the Silver Service Club that they are giving the club some biscuits as a thank-you.
