Silver Service Club

Silver Service Club LogoThe Silver Service Club has been running with various programmes and with various leaders since 1976.

As its name suggests, it tries to do everything well and to a high standard.
The club is provided as part of the Hadleigh Salvation Army's service to the community, presenting a programme of varied entertainment and the offer of friendship, fun and laughter.

Members receive a small gift and a card on their birthday, a Christmas luncheon and a gift, and when sick or in hospital, a visit to them is attempted.

Understandably, there is a spiritual (religious) influence and aspect to its programme, For instance, entertainers are required to adhere to an acceptable standard suitable for church presentation.

The present leaders are Lieut-Colonel David Phillips and Robin Bryant, but they head a team of extremely capable and enthusiastic members who work indefatigably for the benefit of their members.

Days out are organised, often meeting up with other Salvation Army Clubs, and an annual 7 day holiday is included in the exciting programme provided for all over 55 years of age.

Currently there is a weekly attendance of 120 plus and an overall membership of 160.

If you are over the age of 55 years and are interested, you are welcome to come on any Monday at 2.00pm to see if the style of this club suits you. You will be made to feel very welcome. This picture shows just how welcome they will make you:

No, it's not the size of the fish they caught but the size of the welcome waiting for new members
